Duran Golf Club is a public, 27-hole golf facility located in Viera, Florida. The facility has their 18-hole course, The Championship Course and their 9-hole course, The Par-3 Nine
The facility first opened for play in 2005. The courses were designed by Lewis Powell.
The Championship Course ____________________
The course's rolling terrain is characteristic of a links-style layout, with mild mounding around the large, undulating greens
Par for the course is 72. From the back tees the course plays to 7,151 yards. From the forward tees the course measures 5,309 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 1, a par-5 that plays to 571 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 4, a par-3 that plays to 162 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 16, a 389 yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole is # 5, a 429 yard par-4.
#1 (Long Start) is a forgiving and long par-5 that plays to 571 yards from the back tees and 426 from the forward tees. With its wide open fairway, most golfers find it makes for a comfortable start to their round.
#2 (Coffin) is a par-4 that plays to 458 yards from the back tees and 339 from the forward tees. This hole has ponds and is a dogleg right. The hole gets its name from the very long and deep bunker next to the green.
# 3 (Lone Palm) is a par-4 that measures from 257 to 339 yards. The tree stands guard on a small peninsula that jets out into the lake and warns golfers, “Challenge me and you challenge the water.”
#7 (Punch Bowl) is a par-3 that plays from 152 to 200 yards. The hole gets its name from the 8,000 square-foot green with bowl shape along the entire back of the green.
#8 (Beachless) is a par-4 dogleg right that plays from 333 to 447 yards. It’s named Beachless because the hole has no bunkers. The back tees require a carry over water.
#11 (False Front) is a 531 yard par-5. It’s a fairly straight hole, the challenge comes from the greens complex and the bunkers surrounding the elevated green. The front quarter of the green drops off like a shelf.
#17 (Biarritz) is a long par-3 measuring from 163 to 235 yards. A biarritz is the name for a green that has a deep dip in the middle, usually running from side to side. This long narrow green does indeed have a gully that will funnel balls to the center, which can be a good thing if the pin is in the right position.
#18 is the signature hole at Duran. Its a long, sweeping dogleg left par-4 that plays to 460 yards from the back tees. The fairway wraps in a crescent shape around a large lake with a series of bunkers on the right side of the fairway that makes the fairway look like a very narrow target from the back tees.
The Par-3 Nine ____________________
This par-27, 9-hole course is maintained to the condition of their championship course. The short course along with the practice greens allow a great venue to work on your short game, putting, chipping and pitching. The entire 30 acre facility is lighted, allowing you to practice and play in the evening.

If you have not experienced the Duran experience you are missing out. Duran is the most challenging golf course in Brevard county. When the wind blows it will give any tour player a challenge to shoot par. If you like undulated greens and perfectly moan fairways then Duran golf course is the place to play.
